The following details the supplementary rules for the Mediterranean Campaign. Apart from the rules as stipulated here all rules from the standard Seas Ablaze Module will be adhered to.

How do I win?
To win the Mediterranean Campaign the alliance with the most Ports captured by the end of 1945 wins the campaign, to capture a Port you must attack and either bombard in to submission or invade. The statistics for each Port are in the relevant Port Thread.

When the Port is destroyed or captured it is then occupied by the Admiral that destroyed it is immediately available to be used by your forces as a Home Port. However, Admirals must note that the Income and Abilities of the Port are reduced due to damage and the Port may need to Repaired.


Axis Special Rules

The U-Boat Menace
Before the game begins the Axis Powers controlling the Italian/German units in the game will recieve 6 Submarines to deploy freely on any Sea Region or Neutral Port Region Map. The U-Boats are added to your roster free of cost and may be controlled or distrubuted amongst your admirals, however only your Nations Fleet Admiral may deploy them. These units may NOT deploy in a Port Region that is occupied by any Admiral.

A maximum of 2 U-Boats may be deployed in any one region map.

Axis U-Boats:

3 x U-47
3 x U-552


Axis Blitz
To demonstrate the initiative gained at the start of the war, and as a reflection of the Allies ill-preparedness to fight the following rules apply to Axis Players.

The Regia Marina Fleet Admiral may place in Taranto the following facilities at the begining of the campaign:

1 Airfield
1 Factory (+6 Points/Day)
2 AA Batteries
2 Forts

The Regia Marina Fleet Admiral may place a Factory at either La Spezia or Venice.

Limited German Presence
Due to the Germans mounting their offensives in France and their upcoming offensive against Great Britain "Operation Sealion", only limited assistance was given to the Mediterranean Campaign especially for the Kriegsmarine. For this reason only limited German Units are available to the Regia Marina/Kriegsmarine alliance in the Mediterranean. Only the following units may be used by the Regia Marina in their builds and construction options:

- No Kriegsmarine Battleships or Pocket Battleships may be used.
- Graf Zeppelins may be built and used by any of the Axis Powers .
- All Light Cruisers & Heavy Cruisers are available.
- All Kriegsmarine Destroyers are available.
- All Submarines are available
- All Kriegsmarine Aircraft are available

- Year restrictions for these units are still in place.
- There may only be a maximum of 4 German units in each Task Force
- There may only be a maximum of 12 German units in each Fleet
- There must aways be more Italian Units than German in any build.

Soviet Axis Ally
For the purposes of this campaign the Soviets are still in alliance with the Germans and Italians at this point in the war. All Soviet builds may also use German units  see above restrictions.

The Soviets may begin the campaign with a Factory at Sevastopol.

Australian Ally
Australian units are available to the Royal Navy for this campaign.

Greek Ally
Greek units are available to the Royal Navy for this campaign.

RN Established Bases
The Royal Navy has established long term bases in the Mediterranean Sea at Gibraltar, Malta and Alexandria.

The Royal Navy may start the campaign with a Factory in Alexandria and Gibraltar.

Malta will starts the game with the following facilities/units, to be be placed by the RN Fleet Admiral at the beginning of the campaign:

1 Airfield
1 AA Battery
1 T Class Submarine (HMS Truculent)

The Royal Navy Fleet Admiral may not deploy any units at Malta, aside form the Submarine, at the beginning of the campaign.

French Infrastructure
The French may begin the campaign with a Factory at Marseilles.

Seas Ablaze Custom Cards
Approved Seas Ablaze Custom Cards are available to Admirals for use during the course of the campaign.

Updated, for version 3 of the Campaign.

Main changes - Malta inlcuded some facilities but also allowed deployment of 1 T Class submarine. historically the subs were left to defend Malta when the fleet units were moved to Alexandria.

Italy - gave them another factory for the start of the game.

France - gave them a factory for Marseilles.

I have a quick clarification:
We can only get the German units once right? So:
A) If the Italians can get all of them, can the Soviets as well?
B) When a KM unit is destroyed, can we rebuild it?
C) I don't think we can build "reprints" can we?

My main concern is that while the Allies can get infinite Fast Raiders (Aussie's) the Axis can get 2. (Hipper and Atlantis) No biggy, but just making sure! :D

I am going to deal with the Independent Raider issue first. You are incorrect, the Axis forces have available:

Scipione Africano
Trento
Bolzano
Giovanni Della Bande Nere
Eugenio di Savio

Admiral Scheer
Admiral Hipper
Koln
Atlantis

Gromkiy

So that is 10 units who can be Independent Raiders and as you can build multiples of each then I cannot see the issue.

A Raider is decided on the SA and in the update we included Fast 5 and Lead the Attack 2 but apart from bringing in Bande Nere and Koln all the others were always available.

Ok Germans

There are no class limits, as stated in the Main Rules,  in the campaign so you can build 20 Kolns etc so it does not matter if one is destroyed you can replace it.

The Soviets can build the same class of ship but must give it a unique name. So Italy could build a Graf Zeppelin and the Soviet Union could build Peter Strasser (Graf Zeppelin).

Just to clarify - are the Soviets starting with a new port in the Black Sea?

Ahha! I didn't see the new Raider Rules, I had thought it was just Raider type SA's! :D

As for the Germans, could I then build a Fleet of 12 Nurnburgs? Provided I had more Italian ships total?

I just want to make sure I get it now, so I don't mess up the campaign! lol

The Raider rules are not new just a couple of minor tweaks to introduce two new SAs.

As for the Germans you could build 12 Nurnburgs but you have to remember that each of your Task Forces can only have maximum of 4 German Units and Fleets a maximum of 12 German units. Also there must be more Italian than German units. So you could not have a pure German Tasf Force or Fleet.
